Restuarants and Cafes!

Hooked on Stacked

Stacked is a really unique restaurant in San Diego. It’s located in the Fashion Valley Mall, but it’s in its own corner where there are other restaurants such as a sushi place, P.F. Chang’s and Cheesecake Factory and it’s easy to park and walk to so you don’t have to go through the entire mall. What makes this place so cool is that you can “stack” or make your own burger (they have everything from pretzel buns to salmon burgers), salad (for you healthy people), pizza (really yummy), pasta dish, milkshake and my personal favorite, ice cream cookie sandwich. The other catch is that you order everything off an iPad. You basically stack what you want and then click “Send to the Kitchen” and a server brings it out in no time. The atmosphere is really fun and colorful; it almost looks like there is graffiti painted on the walls. This place is perfect for grabbing dinner with your friends on Friday or Saturday nights. I have two warnings: first of all, make sure you get a reservation or a call ahead because this place will be packed on the weekends starting at 6 pm. The other warning is watch what you stack because a lot of times you get caught up stacking and you can end up with a fifteen-dollar pizza and a seven-dollar milkshake. Other than that it’s not very pricey, but worth every penny!

(My dad and brother enjoying his fifteen-dollar pizza, he got a stacked-attack)

Activities!

Why don't you check out our (and soon to be your) teams now you are in the city?
Go to some games, paint yourself, have some fun!

SAN DIEGO CHARGERS

San Diego's Chargers are the only NFL team based in Southern California. They moved here from LA in 1961 and had been representing the city since then.
Whether you like Football or not, don't let the yea pass without attending to one of their games. If you are an international student as me, I can assure you will get impressed about how fans live a match at the Qualcomm Stadium, which is right here:

SAN DIEGO PADRES

TICKETS

Visiting Downtown you are very likely to run into Petco Park! Where you can watch the San Diego Padres playing: America's favorite pastime!

Where is Petco Park? Check it out:

So yes, if the last time you got out of the Hard Rock's Hotel Club you saw this big stadium and wondered if it was there when you left that cab, it was. No big deal, it happened to me too!

Restaurants and Cafes!

ilOve Olive

The first place I have to tell you all about is Olive Café. It’s a little café hidden on Santa Clara Street down on Mission Bay. It has everything from breakfast to lunch to dessert. Some of its best breakfast includes different types of burritos, breakfast scrambles, the best French toast and pancakes that you will ever have (they shouldn’t even be considered breakfast it’s more like dessert they are so delicious), and more. For lunch they have every type of delicious sandwich, with their own type of spin on it. Their turkey clubs are scrumptious as well as any of their salads and burritos. One thing Olive is famous for is their salsa. If you ever order a burrito or breakfast scramble or chips, make sure you get triple extra salsa. Also, one thing I CANNOT leave without when I go to Olive is their Acai bowls. And if you’ve never had an Acai bowl, try Olive’s first because it is topped with bananas, strawberries, blueberries, granola and honey. It’s so refreshing and delicious and you cannot go wrong with getting an Acai bowl from Olive. In truth, you can’t go wrong with getting anything at Olive (key word for this restaurant: delicious). The price is also really affordable and extraordinary for the quality and quantity of the food. I’m on the crew team at my University and after every morning practice (literally) we got food at Olive. It’s like a home-cooked meal and the people who work there treat you like their family, and if you go there often enough they will know you by name. And you will ALWAYS see other students there. In short, ilOve Olive.

(My friends loving some Olive after practice)
